Master of Counselling Student, Monash University, Hong Kong
Talking about our innermost emotions and experiences is not always easy, so it is normal to feel anxious when attending counselling. Angela understands all relationships are based on trust and counselling is no exception. By ensuring a non-judgmental safe space and collaborative working alliance, clients are invited to share their story, discuss their life problems and talk through painful moments. By asking open-ended questions and clarifying perceptions, clients can feel heard whilst meanings can be found and strengths can be identified to encourage awareness to change and grow.
As a student, Angela is interested in evidence-based techniques such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Narrative Therapy, in an integrative approach to meet each individual’s unique needs. Emphasising a client’s desired outcome, clients are empowered to utilise their internal resources to become their most resilient self to face current and future adversities.
Angela is compassionate, patient and empathetic, supporting clients to increase their self-awareness and gain new perspectives to facilitate growth.
