Master of Counselling Student, Monash University, Hong Kong
Janet grew up in Hong Kong and Singapore and has a keen interest and appreciation of different cultures, bringing a sensitive, culturally-informed approach to her therapeutic work. Having been in education for over 10 years, she has experience working with preteens, young people, parents and adults. Janet believes that people want to become the best version of themselves, and her passion is helping clients facilitate this through counselling and walking with her clients through any issues that they may face.
Janet works in a person-centred manner, meeting clients where they are at and encouraging meaningful change by helping clients understand themselves better, bringing forth their natural strengths and internal resources. Informed by Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, among other modalities, Janet adapts her therapeutic work to suit each individual. Janet is an empathetic, non-judgemental and collaborative counsellor who aims to provide a safe, respectful and therapeutic space for her clients to work within.
